Well i went to see the revival of Les Miserables last night and i must say it was absolutely AMAZING
Jean Valjean was played by Victor Hawks [understudy] and he was pretty good during most of the songs though at some parts he was a bit boring... the upper notes of "bring him home" were amazing by him but the lower parts were boring... and i hated the way he said Javert's name during the show... he pronounced it wrong
Javert. just wow. Norm Lewis is absolutely AMAZING in this role. he's incredible... the only thing i didnt like was how he jumped from the bridge during "javert's suicide" because it looked like he was being flushed down a toilet rather than drowning... but that was just because of the lighting
Fantine was played by Lea Salonga and when i saw this cast change in the playbill i was EXTREMELY excited because shes amazing and wasnt supposed to be fantine until next week. And her performance was as amazing as i expected. This is the first time i actually understood EVERY word that fantine sang every other one ive heard has mumbled some words, but Lea's diction was great
the little girl who played Young Cosette was very adorable-- it was the first time i actually liked "castle on a cloud" fully because she was so adorable
Thenardier was very good as well. Gary Beach was great for this role he was very good.... but he overacted a couple of parts, but it still looked good.
Madame Thenardier- wow. Jenny Galloway was so funny i absolutely loved her performance.
Gavroche, played by Brian D'addario, was so cute.. i actually cried when he died, because of the way he acted it.
Eponine was an understudy, Megan McGinnis, and she was also very good, but she, like victor, mis-pronounced javert's name.
Cosette, Ali Ewoldt, was great for this role and i actually ENJOYED the role.. i usually hate the role of Cosette, not because of the singers, just because i dont like the role itself. but Ali was very good.
Enjorlas-- WOW AARON LAZAR! *jaw drops* absolutely PERFECT wow there are no words to describe his performance
Marius-- Adam Jacobs was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!! no words to describe it.
Grantaire- Drew Sarich was very good... he was funny when he was supposed to be and the way he showed so much care for gavroche was so adorable.
overall everything was absolutely great i LOVED the harmonies during "Master of the House" and everything about it was perfect i was sooo happy i got to go and that i'm going again in May =)
AND i got to meet some of the cast-- i met Aaron, Adam, Drew, Gary, Norm, and Lea------ they were all so nice to us and full of smiles and laughs

HAHAHAAH! I knowwww. I was thinking the same thing! More like a dramatic flushing of toilet. LMAO.
Wasn't Norm so nice at the stage door? I was standing next to his friend.. and at that time, I didn't know they were friends!! Norm's friend even asked me if I wanted to have my picture taken with Norm, and I was like, "No, it's ok. My camera's battery is running low. I'm saving it up when Lea comes out." After Norm signed my Playbill and saw the guy standing next to me, he bellowed, "OHMYGOD! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE!!" Eeeeeeeh.. of course, Norm had to be that friend. Eeee. I'm such a dork sometimes! I can't stand it!
Then, Lea just walks past the stage door line so I wasn't able to take a picture of/with her!! I had to run after her at the end of the end of the line so I can shove my Playbill to her face for her to sign it. :)) OH man, what a night that was. So memorable!
I'm Joey, btw. :)
hi joey im toni-ann =)
I think I was standing next to you guys when Lea was signing my Playbill. Does your mom have a really really short hair? I lent her my silver Sharpie, I think. LOL. A must-have for every fangirl. I was the one who told Lea, "I know you're in a rush to go home, but please sign my Playbill first!" *dork* Then she said, "Yeah, I haven't seen my baby the whole day." Awww.
Are you seeing Les Miz again?
i didnt hear anyone say that so u might have been there after me hehe... but aww i love Lea.
Yeah i'm going May 3rd with my school, how about you??
